Hace unas horas se conocieron las nominaciones para los Oscars 2023 y como es ya habitual, hubo grandes sorpresas.
La ceremonia tendrá lugar el 12 de marzo en el Dolby Theatre en Hollywood. Dicho evento será esperado con gran expectativa por los fanáticos del séptimo arte.
Nominaciones a mejor actriz en Premios Óscar 2023
- Cate Blanchett por “Tár”.
- Ana de Armas por “Blonde”.
- Andrea Riseborough por “To Leslie”.
- Michelle Williams por “Los Fabelman”.
- Michelle Yeoh por “Todo a la vez en todas partes”.
Sin duda alguna, nuestra querida actriz Ana de Armas tendrá que enfrentar poderosos rivales, razón por la cual fue entrevistada, en presencia de reporteros de Lo Real Maravilloso, para conocer de primera mano sus vivencias e inquietudes.
He aquí los detalles de la entrevista:
Le preguntaba a mi mamá el otro día si recordaba películas de Maryland en la televisión cubana y me dijo que por supuesto, que todos los fines de semana; el sábado en la noche o el domingo a mediodía teníamos películas de Marilyn y estoy segura que las vi, lo que en aquella, en aquel momento, no era consciente de quién era Marilyn Monroe.
Yo creo que Marilyn era súper magnética y era muy talentosa y muy muy muy graciosa, tenía un gran sentido del humor y era muy cómica. Desafortunadamente su carrera la llevó más a personajes en comedias. Casi siempre le entregaban actuaciones donde siempre estaba desenfadada y aniñada. Pero ella hubiese podido hacer personajes dramáticos increíbles si le hubiesen dado la oportunidad.
Yo creo que inconscientemente empecé a descubrir paralelismos y sentimientos con Marilyn, por experiencias personales de la vida. Es un personaje que me dejó sacar todas esas cosas que yo tenía dentro, que no había tenido la oportunidad de mostrar como actriz y creo que todas mis experiencias en Cuba y después en España y al mudarme a Estados Unidos y conocer la industrias me hizo crecer.
Crecer como actriz, es encontrar la manera de orientar mi carrera y hacer los personajes que quiero, creo y llevo dentro.
Marilyn fue una actriz que luchó muchísimo por ser reconocida, respetada como actriz, como intelectual. Una mujer súper inteligente que estaba encasillada en ese tipo de personajes y roles sexuales le daban; y pienso que todo eso la ayudó a entender, a comprender ese sentimiento, ese reto.
Yo creo que el personaje lo cree, lo trabajé y lo entendí como cualquier otro personaje que hubiese interpretado. Era importante poner a Marilyn la actriz e ícono a un lado y prestarle atención a Norma Jean y a lo que ella sintió; encontrar la verdad en la mujer que al final es interpretada por el personaje de Marilyn.
El trabajo en el set fue colaborativo con Andrew y con los otros actores Yo pienso que me sentí en todo momento muy en sintonía con ellos y tomé el control.
Yo sabía lo que estábamos haciendo, yo sabía la intención, yo entendí el trabajo que iba a tomar la entrega y también sabía que iba a demandar mucho de mí. Debía mostrarme vulnerable y mostrar cosas íntimas y personales que no había tenido la oportunidad de mostrar antes. Yo creo que fue un trabajo en el que me tuve que exponerme muchísimo, pero a la vez no quería perder la oportunidad. Me pareció una de las cosas más bonitas del proyecto, el reto y el trabajo personal de llegar a esas a esos lugares en momentos oscuros y difíciles.
Creo que las mujeres en la industria del cine estamos sometidas, obligadas a permanecer bajo una mirada muy específica. Yo siempre pienso que en aquella época los estudios controlaban más la vida de los actores. La carrera, la narrativa en su vida personal estaba bajo contrato por 10 años y la industria decidía que hacer contigo, que iba a pasar con tu vida
Ahora los estudios no controlan tanto, ahora son las redes sociales y los medios de prensa y es algo realmente desafortunado, está fuera de tu control, es lidiar con algo que por mucho que te empeñes no puedes rectificar. Estás en una situación donde siempre lo vas a hacer mal, si no haces lo que el debate y los críticos establecen.
Considero explotación de la imagen de Marilyn, continuar romantizando y darle una idea idílica a la vida de una persona que sufrió tanto y no enseñar el otro lado.
Creo que no se puede olvidar ¿Cómo acabó la vida de esta persona?, la tragedia que pasó y eso no sucedió por tener una vida maravillosa, sabes. Hay que contar el otro lado de la historia, creo que hay que empatizar mucho más con la humanidad de esa persona, con lo que tuvo que lidiar y por eso creo que el error es en no contarlo y seguir perpetuando esa idea de glamour y de éxito y de fama, como si fuese algo que tuviésemos que perseguir porque es una idea perfecta del ideal americano de la felicidad y de lo que supuestamente es el éxito. Creo que es totalmente equivocado

Discrimination is a shame, in general – and especially against great artists and sportsmen of any culture and country. However, these spheres have been politicized by narrowminded people. I feel sorry about that.
Ana de Armas had success in Europe, though. She received recognition and a prize in France.
This country has a long tradition of friendly relations with Cuba.

All forms of discrimination are unjust and must be criticized, although experience has sadly shown that for every speech against racial and social discrimination, three voices emerge in favor of it. Fascist ideologies are very strong and sometimes I have the impression that Hitler is not dead. Hollywood and its academy are disastrous examples of racial discrimination against blacks and Latinos and also against left-wing scriptwriters and actors, they live and act as if they were in full McCarthyism.
Luckily Ana de Armas is well accepted in Europe. Bravo to her.

I get the same impression that Hitler is not dead. On the contrary, he has been resurrected in multiple forms, in many countries. Like the Greek Hydra, this monster grows more and more heads, when you cut one off.
Regarding about the discrimination of Latinos in North America, which you write about, I will say this:
I read an article in the French magazine «Paris Match» about the five actresses nominated for «Best Actress» at the next Oscar event. They write that (again) Kate Blanchett is the insider favourite! Does she have an «abonnement», or what?
They write that Ana de Armas is an outsider, with very little chances of winning this prize.
Then I read some Australian articles, because the movie director of «Marilyn» is Australian. The tenor there is outright hateful. «Bad film», «bad actress», etc.
I was truly shocked. My only consolation is that the Australians are not known for being very cultured or refined people. They are really «down under» – if you know what I mean.
